This ultra-rare early 1970s Jaquet Droz chronograph is a great piece of history from the now famous high-horology watchmaker. This dual-register chronograph by Jaquet Droz features a captivating deep blue textured dial with a tachymeter on the outer track. The dial shows the early arrow logo design for Jaquet Droz. The hands are rectangular in shape with a stripe of blue down the center to match the dial. The subdials are radial silver in design with black hands. The white center chronograph second hand adds a lovely pop to the design and matches the white dial text. The watch is in beautiful restored condition as per our extensive restoration and authentication process. The watch features a new acrylic dive crystal, a carefully cleaned dial and hands, and a case and an original bracelet that has been restored to OEM finishing with the original sunburst radial pattern on the upper surface of the case. The watch features the famous Valjoux 7733 manual wind cam-driven lateral-clutch chronograph movement that has been fully overhauled and restored to OEM specs.

This Jaquet Droz runs at 18,000 vph and tracks seconds and minutes up to 30.

The watch is 38mm in diameter but does wear slightly larger due to the cushion case shape. The bracelet is 20mm. The dial is signed Jaquet Droz. The case, crown, and movement are unsigned which was common during this period. The caseback and crown have new gaskets and combined with the new dive crystal, this watch features mid-range water resistance.

A rare vintage Jaquet Droz chronograph with the workhorse Valjoux 7733, you can’t beat that!

As with all our restored pieces we sell, this Jaquet Droz comes with our zero-headache warranty.
