The A. Schild 1396N watch movement, introduced in 1977, possesses remarkable features that made it the thinnest automatic movement with date and sweep second at the time. Comparable movements without date and/or sweep second were only able to slightly surpass its slender design even in 2003. Equipped with a micrometer regulator and two serially coupled barrels, one with a fixed spring and the other with a slip spring, this movement offers reliable performance. Additionally, it shares similarities with the Lemania 8810. The A. Schild 1396N movement boasts several notable functions, including automatic winding, a quickset date feature, and a hack mechanism. It is a mechanical movement without a second hand, and it has been utilized from 1977 onwards.
