The Zenith 106-S.C. watch movement is an open face calibre that was introduced during the period 1911-1924. It features a ratchet on the dial side and a crown mechanism with a rocker bar. This movement is unique in that both the watch and alarm functions are driven by a single barrel. Notably, a device allows for 2 revolutions of the mainspring arbor to be utilized for the alarm, with the clutch wheel for the alarm operating simultaneously as a ratchet. The alarm loudness can be adjusted to a certain extent using a screw at 5:30h, although a louder alarm will reduce its duration. The J10 movement also includes other functions such as stem wind and pin set alarm, as well as a sub second display.
