The Universal Geneve 218-97 is a mechanical watch movement introduced in 1977. It is equipped with a micrometer regulator and features two serially coupled barrels, one with a fixed spring and one with a slip spring. The movement is equivalent to the Longines 990. It offers an automatic winding system, a sweep second hand, and a hack feature. The Universal Geneve 218-97 has been in use since 1977.
