The Seiko 7002A watch movement, introduced in 1942, belongs to the first calibre family featuring bidirectional rotor winding. It offered an optional Reed's regulator, although specific differences between the 690, 691, 696, and 698 were not disclosed. The movement includes automatic winding and a sweep second function.
