The Seiko 6106B watch movement, manufactured from 1959 to 1967, underwent a significant change in 1964 when its fixed stud carrier was replaced by a mobile one. The movement features an indirectly driven minute function, which enables a large balance and a low-profile design. Additional functions of the Seiko 6106B movement include automatic winding and a sweep second hand.
