The Lemania 5012 watch movement, produced from 1957 to 1962, belongs to the first movement family to incorporate a micro rotor for self-winding. Its self-winding gear incorporates a pinion that switches direction and is positioned between two large jewels. In 17-jewel variants, one of these jewels is replaced by a polished steel disc. Early samples of the Lemania 5012 bear the 1001A signature of their predecessor. This movement offers automatic winding, a sweep second hand, and a date function that can be set by changing the time between 23:30 and 24:00 hours.
