The Jaeger Lecoultre 889 watch movement, used from 1999 onwards, shares many technical details with the ETA 2892 movement. It is an automatic movement with a perpetual calendar function that includes a day hand at 3 o'clock, date hand at 12 o'clock, month hand at 9 o'clock, moon phase aperture at 9 o'clock, and a year/leap year disc at 9 o'clock. The day, date, month, and moon phase can be set using specific pushers located at different positions on the watch. The movement also features a hack feature.
