The Gruen N510 watch movement features a pin-lever escapement and an indirect minute hand with a friction clutch on the barrel. The releasing stem is operated by strongly pulling the crown while turning it counterclockwise, while the inserting stem is operated by strongly depressing the crown while turning it counterclockwise. This movement has several variants within its family, although limited documentation exists for them. The official designation of each variant is often indicated on the movement itself, accompanied by codes for specific features when the official designation is unknown. The movement is manual wind and was used from 1974 onwards.
