The General 861 watch movement is an automatic mechanism that incorporates a regulation gear. It is part of a family of movements based on the manual wind calibre AS 1687/1688. Developed in collaboration with Doxa, Eberhard, Favre-Leuba, Girard-Perregaux, and Zodiac, the extent of Ebel's involvement in this group remains unknown. The movement features automatic winding, sweep seconds, and a date function that is set by changing the 21-24 hour marker. The General 861 movement was used during the period from 1961 onwards.
