Return To ShopThe ETA 2783 is a mechanical watch movement introduced in 1962. It features a micro rotor and can have either 21 or 30 jewels, with a double jewel bearing. The movement includes a double excenter regulator for curb pins and stud carrier. It incorporates a self-winding gear with direction switching facilitated by a pinion floating between two large jewels. The indirectly driven minute hand allows for a low profile design. Minor modifications to the base plate and simplified date driver were implemented around 1966/67. The movement offers various functions including automatic winding, date adjustment by changing 23-24h (later changed to 22-24h from ca. 1966/67 onward), sub seconds, Incabloc shock protection, and a calendar. It has been in use since 1962.
