The ETA 2523R watch movement features a uniquely designed minute wheel and automatic transmission wheel running on ruby studs. The day and date change are both independently adjustable, although the specific method employed by the manufacturer remains undisclosed. It is, however, advised to adjust the day change slightly later than the date change, enabling the date to advance without altering the day of the week, particularly useful for months with fewer than 31 days. This movement is automatic, includes a sweep second hand, and allows for the setting of the day and date by changing the 21-24 hour and 20-24 hour indicators respectively. The ETA 2523R movement was predominantly utilized in watches produced around 1970.
