The ETA 2425 watch movement, produced from 1950 to 1954, is a significant addition to the line of gents automatic-family movements. It introduced a ball-bearing rotor, which ensured smooth and efficient winding. The movement underwent several modifications, including a transition from the T- to U shock device. While it is unclear if all calibres were produced in the TC variant, only the known versions are documented. The manual winding mechanism is detached, with the self-winding mechanism connected to the crown wheel through a springless lever mechanism. The polished lever features bevelled edges, and the bidirectional self-winding is facilitated by a single ratchet wheel. The base plate is exquisitely decorated under the bridges. In summary, the ETA 2425 movement boasts automatic functionality, a sweep second hand, and was produced exclusively between 1950 and 1954.
