The Elgin 288 watch movement, produced between 1914-1915, consists of 13,000 units and is an open face calibre model 3 featuring a bimetallic screw balance and a Breguet hairspring. This movement incorporates a negative stem mechanism and shares similarities with the model 3, 0 size, but with a smaller base plate. The differences between model 3, 5, and 7 are not disclosed.
