The Elgin 179 watch movement is a manually-wound mechanical movement with a sweep second hand. It features a spirofin micrometer regulator and has quickset functions for both the day and date. Additionally, it includes a hack feature where the second hand stops when the crown is pulled to the zero position. This movement was commonly used in Longines watches around 1974.
