The Cortebert 697 watch movement features a unique design where the train and hand gears are driven separately by the barrel. This design allows for a low profile and creates space for a large balance. However, it requires precise and shake-free gears due to the coupling between the second- and minute hands. The movement offers manual winding and a sweep second function and was commonly used around 1975.
