The Citizen 0840 watch movement was introduced in 1972 and features an electronically controlled balance motor. It includes a sweep second hand and offers a day function that can be quickly set by repeatedly pushing the crown with the 12-hour marker at the bottom. The day function is available in two languages. Additionally, it has a date function that can be quickly set by repeatedly pushing the crown with the 12-hour marker at the top. The movement also includes a hack feature. The Citizen 0840 movement has been used since 1972.
