The Alpina 586 watch movement is a manual wind movement that was commonly used around 1965. It is part of a set of nearly identical calibres, including the 2480, 2482, 2487, Eterna 1437, and Eterna 1447. These movements are mirror-inverted versions of each other, with the dial feet positions also being mirrored. The minute hand of the Alpina 586 is indirectly driven, allowing for a relatively large balance and a low profile. The reasoning behind these twin movements, especially for two-hand movements, remains unknown.
