The Alpina 291 watch movement features a pin lever escapement and a ratchet on the dial side. Its crown mechanism is equipped with a rocker bar. The 51/4 and 51/4a models have only minor differences between them. This movement is manually wound and includes a sub-second function. The Alpina 291 movement was commonly used around the period of 1940.
