The Alpina 228 is a manual-wind chronograph watch movement that was produced between 1937 and 1970. Over 3.5 million units were manufactured during this period. The movement featured various chrono mechanisms, with interchangeable parts that occasionally incorporated components from different calibres. It included functions such as a 60-second chronograph, sub seconds display, and 30/45-minute recording capabilities, all switched by a cam mechanism.
