The A. Schild 1865 watch movement, designed for small table clocks in approximately 1949, features a Breguet hairspring and a unique slip-spring system. The slip-spring ensures that as long as the end with the hook presses on one of the 5 notches B, the other end remains engaged. When the mainspring pulls the hook toward the center, the slip-spring end disengages from the current notch and swiftly jumps to the next. Additionally, this movement offers stem wind and lever set functionality, along with a sub-second display. The watch's alarming snap noise, often mistaken for damage, is an indicator that the timepiece is fully wound.
