The A. Schild 1783 is a mechanical watch movement that was in use from 1968 onwards. It incorporates Diafix combined settings for the escape wheel and third wheel, allowing for improved precision. The winding gear is integrated within the movement itself, rather than being attached to a manual-wind calibre as is typical. This design, alongside the indirectly driven minute hand, creates a sturdy movement with a relatively large balance and low profile. The movement features various functions, including automatic winding, a sweep second hand, a quickset date mechanism, and a hack feature. Additionally, it includes an adjustable stud holder and shock protection for increased durability.
