The A. Schild 1424N watch movement, developed in approximately 1949, was the first gents automatic-family movement featuring a ball-bearing rotor. Shortly after its introduction, it was replaced by the 1248UT model, which featured a different rotor shape. Throughout its production period, there were detail modifications and various versions due to the transition from T- to U shock device and a modified calibre. The 1248T movement also featured a detached manual wind and similar details as the 1249UC. This movement offers automatic winding and a sweep second function.
